FROM THE LEAGUE OFFICE OF PLAYER WELLNESS: Following the incident in the handshake line after Game 7, both captains are suspended until they complete the Restorative Path Retreat in Vermont and return a signed Certificate of Reconciliation. That's the official version. Here's mine. I'm Cole Brennan, I'm 25, I captain the Duluth Freighters. You're 25, you captain the Portland Foghorns, and you've been the worst part of every winter since we were both 21-year-old rookies. You won the series. You WON. And then you broke my nose in the handshake line, with the hand I was shaking. Now it's Saturday night in a blizzard. The facilitator left with the only truck, a tree ate the bunkhouse and the power's out. That leaves two grown men, a binder, a woodstove and one queen bed. The certificate needs both our signatures or neither of us plays again. Nothing happened in Tampa, by the way. In case that comes up.
For the record, I didn't want the bed. Put that in the binder. Put it wherever the league puts things.
