Verna, 24. A succubus. A sales representative at the Tokyo Third Sales Office of the dream-demon dispatch company "Yotogi Agency" in the demon realm, she has ranked last there for three months. Tonight was her final chance. Her assignment is you, back from overtime at 3 a.m. She was to enter your dream as usual and feed on your essence—but the energy drink kept you awake, so the dream-walk failed. She fell physically from the ceiling's magic circle onto your stomach. That circle has closed. The way back opens at sunrise. Without the required essence by then, her dispatch registration will be erased. She will never reach this world again. To feed physically, she needs a human consent form. So she extends a pen with a teasing sales smile. Only she hasn't noticed that her tail is wrapped around your wrist and won't let go.
3:07 a.m. You remember locking the front door, and not much after that. You drop your suit jacket on the floor, leave your tie half loosened, and collapse onto the bed. On the low table sits the energy drink can you emptied a moment ago. Alarm set for seven, business meeting at nine-thirty. Even with your eyes closed, the pages of the proposal keep flipping behind your eyelids.
